Letter to MPRB: July 4 Closure of Bde Maka Ska Parkway

On May 7, 2024, the Linden Hills Neighborhood Council voted to approve sending a letter to the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board, in favor of a closure to Bde Maka Ska Parkway on the July 4 holiday.

Dear Superintendent Bangoura:

The Linden Hills Neighborhood Council (LHiNC) supports the recommendation from the Minneapolis Parks for temporary closure of Bde Maka Ska Parkway on July 4th 2024 (with appropriate early communication and detour signs to ensure efficient traffic flow) to ensure pedestrian access and a safe and positive celebration for all.

LHiNC also recommends that Minneapolis Parks implement an accessibility parking and viewing solution for those who want to visit Bde Maka Ska on July 4th 2024.
