Be a steward for William Berry Woods

LHiNC is looking for volunteers to help us protect and preserve William Berry Woods!

LHiNC has an annual Park Stewards agreement with the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board to protect and preserve William Berry Woods, the small forest between Lake Harriet and Bde Maka Ska. Our goals are to protect and enhance the native plant community and educate the public about the history, ecology, and value of this beautiful and precious woodland. Our activities include:

  • removing invasive species (such as garlic mustard, Dame’s rocket, and honeysuckle),
  • planting and maintaining native species,
  • hosting education events, and
  • reporting any damage or potential safety issues to the Park Board.

If you’re interested in volunteering for any of the activities listed above or just want to learn more, please send an email to info@lindenhills.org or call LHiNC at 612-926-2906.
