Linden Hills All Ages Events Calendar

WEEKLY

Mondays: Knit or Knot Knitting Group at the Linden Hills Recreation Center on Mondays from 6-8p. Session runs 1/6 to 5/19. Work on your latest project while enjoying the company of like-minded crafters. Staff will be available to answer any basic knitting questions. Ages 18+, registration required, free.

Mondays: Initials Game with Trivia Mafia at Wooden Ship on Mondays at 6:30p, starting 1/13.

Tuesdays: Trivia with Trivia Mafia at Wooden Ship on Tuesdays at 6:30p.

Tuesdays: Trimming Tuesdays in the Roberts Bird Sanctuary on Tuesdays from 1:30 to 3:30p. Help trim Buckthorn and hasten its eradication from the Sanctuary! Wear gloves, eye protection, and layers. Bring drinking water and a lopper and pruner if you can.

Thursdays: Live music at Wooden Ship on Thursdays at 6:00p.


JANUARY

January 1: New Years Cold Plunge & Sauna with Sauna Strong on Wednesday, 1/1 starting at 10a. Kick off 2025 with a big community cold plunge at Lake Harriet North Beach followed by a thaw out at Sauna Strong. Register online here.

January 2: Memorial Blood Centers Mobile Blood Drive at Wooden Ship on Thursday, 1/2 from 2-7p. Sign up here to donate blood.

January 4: Burger Day at the Lake Harriet Masonic Hall on Saturday, 1/4 from 11a-1p. This event is open to the public and we serve fresh beef smashed burgers with all the fixings, plus a bag of chips and pop for just $10. All Beef Hotdogs and Hand-Scooped shakes are also available.

January 5: Vikings game showing at Wooden Ship on Sunday, 1/5 at 7:20p.

January 10: No/Low ABV Pop-Up at France 44 on Friday, 1/10 from 5-8p. Whether you’re taking a breather, not an avid imbiber, or are just looking for something that isn’t too boozy, we’ll be pouring some of our favorite no/low refreshments to celebrate Dry January! Drinks and snacks available for purchase.

January 11: Book Fair for Adults on Saturday, 1/11 from 11a-5p at Inbound BrewCo (outside of Linden Hills). Comma, A Bookshop is participating and will be featuring the Horror and Poetry genres!

January 14: Comma’s Romance Book Club on Tuesday, 1/14 from 6-7:30p. Discussing Bull Moon Rising by Ruby Dixon. RSVP online.

January 16: Linden Hills Library Book Club on Thursday, 1/16 from 7-8p. The book club meets the third Thursday of every month. This is a “hybrid” program with in-person, online, or call-in options. Please register online in advance. Discussing Tom Lake by Ann Patchett.

January 19: Comma’s Fiction Book Club on Sunday, 1/19 from 4-5:30p. Discussing Playground by Richard Powers. RSVP online.

January 25: Winter Kite Festival on Lake Harriet on Saturday, 1/25 from 12-4p. Get ready for a day of icy lakes, colorful skies, and family fun! Stay tuned for more details coming soon!

January 27: Linden Hills History Study Group on Monday, 1/27 at 7p. Topic is The T.B. and Harriet Walker and their contributions to Minneapolis and the group is meeting at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Suggested donation is $5 for non-members of Linden Hills History Study Group. Everyone is welcome.

FEBRUARY

February 1: Fulton’s Lunar New Year Celebration at Pershing Park Rec Center on Saturday 2/1 from 11a-2p. Event promotes cultural awareness and diversity through community building and educational activities. Offering food demonstrations, how to play Mahjong, arts & crafts, inclusive children’s story time in English/Chinese, photo booth station, scavenger hunt, make your own marble fan, and food trucks (Hana Bistro). All ages, free, register here to help the organizers plan for attendance.
