Walk, Bike, Roll to Linden Hills to win gift cards and other prizes!

Linden Hills residents, it’s time to support our local businesses! With planned work shutting down the intersection at 43rd and Upton for a minimum of 10 weeks, the small businesses in Linden Hills village will face new stresses as car activity into and out of the area will be more difficult than usual.

To ensure that the businesses remain busy during this challenging time, the Linden Hills Neighborhood Council (LHiNC) and Southwest Business Association (SWBA) have planned a campaign to encourage non-car activity by Linden Hills residents.

Walk, Bike or Roll to Linden Hills

  • Beginning on April 24, businesses across Linden Hills will post flyers at their front windows, registers or front desks.
  • Anyone who has visited a Linden Hills business without the use of a car can scan the flyer’s QR code or visit this link to enter into a weekly drawing for gift cards and prizes.
  • LHiNC will coordinate the weekly drawing and distribution of prizes – and will post the winners as they’re announced. The first drawing is May 1st!

What you can do to help

The #1 way you can help support these small businesses is by visiting them however and whenever you are able – and encouraging friends and neighbors to do the same! When possible, we encourage you to spend the extra 10 or 15 minutes to walk, bike or roll to these businesses, freeing up the limited parking spaces for those who need them.

We also ask that you:

  • Post your outings on social media and tag the businesses so everyone gets more visibility.
  • Text or email this article to friends and neighbors who may not know about this effort.
  • Visit the businesses and offer grace to the staff members working in challenging conditions.
  • Offer kindness to the workers from Public Works and Metro Transit, who have altered their original project timelines to minimize overall disruption to our community.
  • Slow down if you are driving a car, as congestion into and out of this node will be greater than usual.

A True Community Effort

LHiNC has been working with dozens of business owners and local organizations to ensure this campaign is a success, and we want to explicitly thank:
